Rachel asked the government about waste-to-energy caps and the subsequent impact on Victoria’s Sustainability Fund.

Rachel Payne asked a question on behalf of a constituent calling for improved services on the 838 Bus Route

On Tuesday 20th of February, Rachel Payne MP asked a question on notice to the Attorney-General (for the Minister for Worksafe and TAC), requesting statistics on approved TAC claims for medicinal cannabis treatment.

Rachel Payne spoke during the debate on Notice of Motion 124.

Harmful carcinogens, neurotoxins, PFAS and ultrafine particles are emitted by the hazardous waste landfill site on Taylor’s Road in Dandenong South, yet these emissions are not monitored by the EPA. Rachel asked for an expansion on the types of emissions which the EPA monitors, to ensure air quality for constituents in the vicinity of this site.

With the government investing $727 million in Victoria’s justice system, Rachel asked the Minister for Corrections about therapeutic services for those in correctional facilities. Since tighter bail restrictions are increasing incarceration rates, Rachel expressed the need for therapeutic supports in prisons to prevent re-offending and promote better outcomes.
