On behalf of a constituent in her electorate, Rachel called for sustainable funding for valuable local community service, Knox Library (Ngarrgoo).

Rachel asked a question on behalf of a constituent, who supports residents with disability at a Supported Independent Living (SIL) facility in Noble Park. With state funding for SIL set to run out at the end of this year, the future of accommodation and employment for these residents and their support workers is uncertain.

Rachel asked a written question around statistics on Justices of the Peace in Victoria.

With the government investing $727 million in Victoria’s justice system, Rachel asked the Minister for Corrections about therapeutic services for those in correctional facilities. Since tighter bail restrictions are increasing incarceration rates, Rachel expressed the need for therapeutic supports in prisons to prevent re-offending and promote better outcomes.

Rachel asked a question to the minister for mental health. With Narre Warren’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub closing in 2024, residents have been transitioned to a Dandenong service. Many suburbs in the Casey and Cardinia catchment area continue to lack easily accessible wraparound public mental health services.

Rachel asked a question in parliament on behalf of a constituent, around a shortage of Justices of the Peace in areas of her electorate.


Rachel Payne MP presented a member’s statement on the launch of Justice Q, a free specialist legal service operated by and for LGBTIQA+ people. Launched in October of this year, Justice Q is an initiative of South-East Monash Legal Service (SMLS), with Rachel having served as a proud member of their steering committee.
