I rise to speak on this motion to require the Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission (MHWC) to inquire into, consider and report on the status and outcomes of the implementation of the Royal Commission into the Victorian Mental Health System recommendations.

Rachel Payne MP presented a member’s statement on the launch of Justice Q, a free specialist legal service operated by and for LGBTIQA+ people. Launched in October of this year, Justice Q is an initiative of South-East Monash Legal Service (SMLS), with Rachel having served as a proud member of their steering committee.

Rachel asked for a government commitment to maintaining the cleanliness of Frankston freeway.

Rachel Payne MP asked the Minister for Small Business if the government will commit to continued funding for the Partners in Wellbeing program. Partners in Wellbeing is an initiative which has been supporting small businesses since the pandemic but is set to cease in 2025.

After recently attending a production by Somebody’s Daughter Theatre Company exploring intersectional themes surrounding identity, Rachel advocated in parliament for ongoing funding for such community arts programs.

Rachel Payne MP asked her constituency question to the Minister for Roads and Transport. Rachel echoed the sentiments of many local Chelsea residents in requesting practical changes be made to the Chelsea station pedestrian crossing for better accessibility.

On October 29th 2024, Rachel Payne MP made a contribution to the second reading of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Amendment (Pill Testing) Bill 2024 in the Victorian Legislative Council.
