Rachel Payne MP has announced former Victoria Police Senior Sergeant Greg Denham will be her running mate for the Upper House in the South-Eastern Metropolitan Region.
Greg has over 30 years of experience advocating for evidence-based public health policy that prioritises harm reduction and community safety, and he was previously a Senior Sergeant with Victoria Police. Between 2010 to 2019, he was the Executive Officer of the Yarra Drug and Health Forum in Melbourne.
Greg played a key role in building political support for Naloxone, a life-saving medicine that reverses opioid overdoses and campaigned for Victoria’s first supervised injecting facility in North Richmond.

“Millions of dollars of police resources are wasted each year for cannabis arrests, which should be directed to more harmful crimes such as family violence and organised crime,” says Greg Denham.
“Greg’s decades of experience in harm reduction and drug policy reform brings a powerful perspective.”
“His support towards my campaign as a former Senior Sergeant reinforces the need to stop wasting police resources on minor drug offences and focus on evidence-based solutions,” says Rachel Payne MP.
