Cost of living
The rising cost of living is placing extreme financial pressure on families across the South-Eastern Metropolitan region, disrupting their daily lives.

Lack of affordable housing, mortgage stress, rental stress, and food insecurity are causing record levels of financial hardship across the region.
We must do everything we can to support struggling families, address financial inequality and provide relief to help ease cost-of-living pressures.
In Greater Dandenong, average incomes are the second lowest in the state, and food insecurity ranks the second highest.

What Rachel is pushing for
Affordable housing
I will advocate for a mandatory minimum 10% quota of homes in major residential developments to be allocated affordable and social housing, ensuring more Victorians have access to secure, safe and affordable homes.
Food relief
I will advocate for increased, sustained funding for food relief providers like OzHarvest to help address food insecurity affecting the community.
Financial counselling
I will advocate for financial counselling services to receive five year funding agreements so they can meet rising community demand.
Legalising cannabis will help the economy grow
Regulating and legalising cannabis will create 17,000 new jobs, contribute $10 billion to the economy, provide revenue for essential services and career opportunities for many Victorians.
Free buses
I will advocate for free buses with updated timetables, providing more services and more routes, to help connect people in the South-Eastern Metropolitan region to accessible public transport.
